Hello!
I’m Grace, the Owner of GT Translations. I have a strong background in writing, editing, and translation. I graduated from Memorial University with an honours degree in English, a minor in French, and a diploma in professional writing. I’m a hard-working person who strives for perfection. I am detail-oriented, constructively critical, and driven.
My fluent bilingualism makes me a strong candidate for jobs involving translation and communication with cross-country and international work and authors. Before pivoting to freelance work, I was the managing editor of a national bilingual industry magazine with a strong focus on business and manufacturing. In that position, I produced weekly newsletters and quarterly magazines, which required me to write, edit, source, and translate articles on an ongoing basis. This meant managing freelance writers, interviewing subjects, and producing dozens of original articles each month, resulting in an extensive portfolio.
Besides my journalism and editing experience at Wood Industry magazine, I also have a background in publishing. I have worked at two publishing houses: Memorial University Press and Shoreline Press. Working in these publishing houses allowed me to hone my copyediting skills and learn more about the publishing industry. I also worked with two professors during my undergrad, copyediting academic articles for publication.
I also have significant experience in the field of marketing. My first job out of school was at a national clothing brand as a translator and copywriter. In that position, I handled the company’s internal and external communications, including website content, marketing emails, social media, and memos. Because of the scope of my work, I had to be able to multitask and prioritize effectively while working simultaneously in two languages.
My extensive work history across several fields has given me experience writing for many verticals, including manufacturing, logistics, business, e-commerce, fashion, technology, and more. If you think I’m the right fit for your next project, I would love to hear from you!
